Heal The Body With Your Breath
Founder of Chameleon Breathwork, Nicoletta Puccini, shares some of her wildest and most potent secrets regarding the power of the breath and what it can do for healing.
A Little About The Guest.
Nicoletta is the founder of Chameleon Breathwork, a breathwork facilitator and myofascial release therapist with over 15 years of experience in somatic and nervous system–based work. She is the creator of Intuitive Nervous System Repatterning™, a practical, trauma-informed approach that integrates breathwork, myofascial release, and nervous system regulation to support people living with chronic stress, trauma, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm.
Nicoletta’s work is informed by lived experience. She grew up navigating complex family dynamics and mental illness, which required her to regulate not only her own nervous system but often those around her. As an adult and parent, she continues to apply this work in real time while supporting a child with mental health challenges, including OCD and compulsive patterns. This ongoing experience has shaped her ability to stay regulated under pressure, respond rather than react, and work effectively with highly sensitive and high-stress nervous systems.
She works with both men and women who are carrying long-term responsibility, trauma, or nervous system overload—often people who have tried traditional approaches and are still stuck in survival mode. Nicoletta’s focus is not on catharsis or performance, but on building regulation, capacity, and stability in the body so people can function, relate, and make decisions from a grounded state.
Her work bridges applied neuroscience, somatic therapy, and hands-on bodywork, with an emphasis on real-world integration rather than theory. She facilitates private sessions, group experiences, and longer-term programs designed to help individuals and families create more regulated, resilient nervous systems over time.

The Guest Deep-Dive.
1. What's something your body forgave you for that you haven't mentally forgiven yourself for yet?
My body forgave me for surviving in constant fight-or-flight for years. For running on stress hormones, abandoning my own needs, pushing through exhaustion, and wearing hyper-independence like a badge of honor. It kept showing up for me long after I stopped showing up for myself. Mentally? I’m still learning how to forgive myself for believing survival was the same thing as living.
2. If the version of you that was “holding it all together” met the version of you now, what would she be most annoyed about?
Honestly? My inability to fully see my worth. She would probably be frustrated that after surviving everything I’ve survived, there are still moments I question myself, downplay my gifts, or hesitate to fully take up space. The old version of me fought so hard just to keep us alive. I think she’d want this version of me to stop apologizing for existing and finally understand how powerful we actually are.
3. You help people access their inner pharmacy. What’s the most dangerous thing on the shelf in there, the one with the childproof cap?
The realization that no one is coming to save you. That truth cracks people open. Because once you truly understand that, you also realize no one is coming to abandon you either, unless you abandon yourself. That’s the medicine people both fear and need the most. Radical responsibility. Radical self-trust. The moment you stop waiting for permission, rescue, validation, or someone else to heal you… your entire life changes.
4. What’s the wildest thing you’ve ever experienced or witnessed in a breathwork session?
Oh, I’ve seen a lot. Breathwork bypasses the masks people wear and takes them straight into the body. But one session I’ll never forget was a client who stripped off all their clothes mid-session. It honestly felt like if they could’ve peeled off their own skin to escape what they were carrying emotionally, they would have. That’s how intense the release was. People don’t realize how much trauma, grief, rage, shame, and survival energy the nervous system stores until the body finally feels safe enough to let it move.
5. Have you ever combined psychedelics with breathwork practices?
I’ve never combined anything with breathwork. I’m very open-minded, and I understand why people explore those experiences, but with what I know about brain chemistry, nervous system states, and my own family history, the risks outweigh the curiosity for me personally. Breathwork alone is already powerful enough to alter consciousness, unlock emotion, create euphoria, release trauma, and reconnect people to parts of themselves they’ve buried for years. I’ve never felt like I needed anything else to access those states.
6. Be honest — what’s the most ridiculous thing you tried before breathwork that absolutely did not work?
Ironically, hypnosis. Which is funny because I’m actually a certified hypnotherapist now. But before I understood what hypnosis really was, I tried it from a place of wanting someone else to “fix” me without fully participating in the process. It didn’t work at all. Now I understand hypnosis isn’t about losing control, it’s about becoming deeply present and receptive. Funny enough, that experience taught me a lot about healing: nothing works if you’re disconnected from yourself while doing it.
