1. What’s a fantasy you’ve never said out loud?
Building rooms that change women’s lives without shrinking to be in them. I want to be powerful and feminine. Strategic and soft. Respected and deeply wanted. And if I’m honest, I fantasize about impact that does not require me to carry everyone.
2. What’s the pettiest thing you’ve ever done that you’d absolutely do again?
I warned someone twice about a bad decision and then stepped back and let it blow up. Petty? Maybe. But I am done rescuing grown adults from consequences.
3. What’s the last thing that made you feel wildly turned on by life?
Stepping out of daily operations in a company I built from scratch and realizing I did not disappear. Creating from vision instead of obligation felt electric.
Who in the self-help and healing industry gives you the ick and why?
Anyone selling alignment without accountability.
If you cannot manage money, keep commitments, or lead people well but you are preaching transcendence, that is not healing. That is branding.
Growth requires ownership.
4. What do you spiral about when you are alone with your thoughts?
Whether stepping back was brave or selfish.
Whether I should have seen certain things sooner.
High performers build boldly and question quietly... sometimes over and over again.
5. What part of your personality only comes out when you feel really safe?
I am much softer than people expect.
Playful. Affectionate. Romantic about life.
The driven version of me leads loudly.
The safe version does not have to prove anything.
The Podcast Deets.
Have you ever been held back in life from doing something that you really wanted to do? Or got scared that you might ‘lose it all’ after the hard work was already done?
If so, you wouldn’t be alone. The fear of failure is a real thing- and if we’re being honest, it affects way more of us than we’d ever like to admit.
In today’s Fridays with Friends feature, we are chatting with Michelle Dammen, who walks us through the last few years when she damn near bankrupt her 10 million dollar company because she couldn’t let go.
She was holding onto the business too tightly, and her white-knuckling almost caused her to lose everything... including the relationships closest to her.
Together we chat about the rockslide that life gave her, which didn’t just result in business challenges but severe health problems too (like being diagnosed with fibromyalgia and being 100 pounds overweight).
She’s here to cut through the BS and share what really works to pull yourself out when you’re in those dark places-
and the best part is, it’s a step that anyone can take today.
Let’s dive in, shall we?
